Charles Mukaida

Charles Mukaida is an enthusiastic higher education professional originally from Hawai‘i. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's of Music in Vocal Performance and has built a career around supporting students through equity-driven, community-focused work. In his role as a TRIO Advisor at Loyola University New Orleans, Charles partners with TRIO students as they navigate their academic paths, develop confidence in their abilities, and build the skills they need to succeed both in and beyond the classroom. His work is shaped by a commitment to holistic support and a genuine belief in the potential of every student he serves.

Beyond his work in higher education, Charles stays connected to the performing and visual arts. He has been involved in local productions with organizations such as the New Orleans Opera and Tulane’s Summer Lyric Theatre, and he enjoys photography as a creative outlet. In his spare time, Charles enjoys exercising, singing karaoke, playing video games, and participating in Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. These interests help him stay balanced and grounded and contribute to the supportive, people-centered approach he brings to his work.
